Under the Diamond Moon References
For Under the Diamond Moon, I was inspired by heist stories as well as stories that focus on our changing climate.
While I'm planning a story, I always read as many "peer books" as I can so I can understand the genre. It's especially important to understand the "rules" when merging genres, like I did with A Clockwork Murder (murder mystery in a fantasy world). I do the same with movies and TV shows.
For Under the Diamond Moon, I was inspired by heist stories and thrillers, as well as good old fashioned fantasies. I've also been reading articles that discuss our changing climate, so I can base the story on the science. I'm still reading and watching as I write, so I expect this list will grow.
